Biography
Jessica Frazer is someone for whom music is a natural ability. She was drawn to music at a young age and from the age of 11 she learnt to play the keyboard. From this stemmed a whole fascination of the world of Jazz music and as she blossomed into a mature performer, her style became influenced by the likes of Nina Simone and Ella Fitgerald- old classics as well as newer influences such as Michael Buble and Adele.
As a singer she started out as one voice amongst many in a small primary school choir, which then became much bigger as it joined the ranks of the North West at the MEN Arena each year as part of the Young Voices concerts, where artists such as Heather Small would take to the stage alongside these aspiring singers. As her interests and confidence grew, Jessica soon went on to arrange pieces for her school’s choir- her arrangement of ‘My Immortal’ originally by Evanescence was so popular that the school has asked her back to celebrate its upcoming centenary. The growth of Jessica’s interest in singing and music was not stunted as she left school, in fact, it went on to grow further as she undertook further singing lessons under the watchful eye and ardent ears of Andrew Slater, the well-known opera singer during her time at the University of Huddersfield.
Jessica graduated with a BMus (Hons.) from the University of Wolverhampton and has been teaching for just over four years.
